Toukir Ahmed is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE) at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET). Currently on study leave, he is pursuing his Doctoral studies at Concordia University, Canada. Toukir holds prestigious Erasmus Mundus master’s degree in “Tribology of Surfaces & Interfaces,” funded by the European Union (EU). As part of this program, he completed his first year at the University of Leeds (UK) and the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and his second year at the University of Coimbra (Portugal). His academic journey as an engineering student began at RUET, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial & Production Engineering, graduating with first-class honors and standing first in his department. For his outstanding academic achievements, he was awarded the President’s Gold Medal during RUET’s 5th Convocation and named Student of the Year in his department.

Toukir Ahmed started his professional career as a Project Engineer at Robi Axiata Limited. He then transitioned to academia as a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical & Production Engineering (MPE) at Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology before joining RUET as a faculty member. Toukir has participated in numerous conferences both domestically and internationally. Notably, one of his papers received the Best Track Paper Award at the International Conference on Industrial Engineering & Operations Management, organized by IEOM Society International. Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Toukir has been actively involved in extracurricular activities throughout his university life. He served as Vice President of the RUET IPE Club and the Photographic Society of RUET (PSR).
