Making air cleaner, water safer, and healthcare more accessible through chemical engineering and biotechnology inspires my work. After earning my B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), I worked as a Research Officer at icddr,b, contributing to a pilot project involving 32 brick kilns in the Jashore and Khulna regions. The proposed kiln technology reduced fuel consumption by 23% and reduced emissions significantly compared with conventional kiln technology while simultaneously improving brick quality, and was later implemented in 276 kilns across the same region. During my graduate studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), USA, my research focused on enzyme engineering, biocatalysis, and drug development. Advancing human health and achieving national energy security (biomass to bioenergy routes) through biotechnology are the two central motivations of my research.
